Moms: they give us life, fix our boo-boos, and listen to us rant over slight inconveniences. They’re the best. And, that’s why we want to find them the perfect Mother’s Day gift. You may be of the mindset that moms love everything their kids give them. To some degree that’s true. It’s the thought that counts, but there should be some actual thought put into your gifts. A basic card + “World’s Greatest Mom” mug isn’t quite going to cut it – unless she’s really, really into mugs.
Coming up with a Mother’s Day gift for the most important women in your life (your mom OR the mother of your children) can be hard. You should think about what she wants, what she needs, and what she might actually enjoy. Of course, all moms are different + what one might like, others will not, but after polling my mom-friends + followers these are the gifts they’re hoping to unwrap on Mother’s Day.
Things Moms Want
- Flowers – they brighten up any room + add color + freshness. You can win some for FREE if you enter by Friday.
- Jewelry – pick something with her birthstone or that you know will have meaning.
- A spa treatment – a massage, facial, or a mani + pedi are just what the doctor ordered. A little “me-time” is good for everyone.
- A keepsake – moms + grandmas alike love gifts made by or featuring little ones.
Things Moms Need
- A professional car cleaning – those adorable little monsters leave crumbs + gunk all over her car. A fresh car will give her some new life.
- A sanctuary – spruce up her bedroom by getting her a humidifier, new blanket, a beautiful painting, or fancy new sheets.
- A day off – this was a top answer for moms with young kids. Let the woman go to Target, a movie, or even just be home alone in peace.
- A maid service – even if your mom isn’t the one who does the cleaning, she will certainly appreciate it. You can do it yourself if you can’t afford to hire someone.
Things Moms Might Enjoy
- An Audible subscription – the busy mom in your life spends a lot of time in the car + could use it to listen to some great books like The Year of Yes.
- A trip – give your mom (or wife) the Mother’s Day gift of a girls weekend, solo adventure, or couples getaway.
- Something from pop culture – my mom loves Fixer-Upper + would be all over Joanna’s new cookbook.
- Time with you – moms of older kids all agree, they want time with you! Take her out to lunch, enjoy an experience, or take a trip together.
Whatever you decide to get your mom for a Mother’s Day gift, be sure you put as much thought + love into choosing her gift as she has put into yours. Don’t forget to enter my Mother’s Day flower giveaway by May 4 for the chance to win a perfect gift for Mother’s Day!
