This past weekend, I headed back to Nashville for the second annual Blogger Xchange Xpo. Not only did I learn a lot from the speakers + meet some great new blogger friends, but I was also able to spend some more time in Music City. Since I have been there so many times, I wanted to explore some unique Nashville experiences this trip. Some of these were part of the Xpo, others I did on my own.
If you’ve never been to Nashville, I urge you to see all the sights the city has to offer + work one of these into the mix as well. If you have checked some of the basics off the list, then these unique Nashville experiences are definitely for you! I’ve personally tried all of these so I can attest to how great they are.
Unique Nashville Experience to Try
These five experiences are very different, so there is something for everyone! I enjoyed all of them + think they are great whether you’re on a family vacation, girls’ weekend, or in town for a conference. Try them out + let me know what you think.
Take a photowalk tour of the Gulch + get your mural on. We all know your girl loves a mural + Nashville is full of them. During my trip this weekend, I signed up to get photos with some of the popular + not so popular spots in the Gulch courtesy of Christy + Abbey. These two ladies are not only talented photographers, but they will also give you some great history + tips about Nashvegas. They know all the good spots for photo ops + make posing easy + fun. I can be uncomfortable in front of the camera but with Abbey it was a breeze! Check them out on Airbnb Experiences.
Pour Your Own Candle
Pour your own candle at Paddywax Candle Bar. This was honestly one of my favorite experiences. My friend Amanda + I were graciously gifted a free pouring to try it out. The process is fun + easy. You get to choose from their dozens of scents and vessel options. I went with Vanilla & Oakmoss which was earthy, yet sweet. An instructor walks you through the steps of mixing your scent + wax, placing your wicks, and pouring your candle. Three hours later, you walk away with a candle that YOU made. They also have a retail shop full of more candles, accessories, and more. They also sell wine/allow you to bring your own for a small uncorking fee. 10/10 recommend. They have locations in Nashville, Charlotte, Austin, and Dallas.
Go to Afternoon Tea
One of the unique but not quite unique to Nashville experiences I did was go to afternoon tea at the Café at Thistle Farms. The tea includes six savory + sweet bites (I loved the quiche + scone) as well as your choice of tea. I have honestly never had tea in this manner. I’ve had hot tea, but I’ve never added anything like cream or sugar to it. My world was rocked. It was SO good. I had the India Rose Garden + would definitely get it again. One thing that is awesome about Thistle Farms is that they are actually part of a non-profit that empowers + employes female survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction. Attached to the cafe is a shop full of natural body + home products made by these women + those in other countries who they pay a fair wage.
Get a Makeover
After the photo tour, I ended up at Winky Lux. Winky Lux is a beauty brand with an array of beauty services such as blowouts, lash tints, facials, makeup application, and more! Not only do they help you look your best, but they also have several awesome photo spots to show it off. Some of my favorites were the front wall and the watermelon-jellyfish area. While at Winky Lux, I took part in a flower crown workshop + came away with a sample of their liquid lipstick which I am excited to try. Check out their website to book your services or shop their products! While this was one of my favorite unique Nashville experiences, they are looking to expand the pop-up aspect to their other locations so there may be one near you soon.
Tour Downtown in Style
I mentioned this in weekend guide to Nashville, but there is no better way to see the city than an Off The Wagon tour. No one really wants to peddle their way through a city. Off The Wagon Tours gives you the best of both worlds. You get to see the city with a fun guide while getting your drink on with friends + you’re snug in a wagon. The team really takes safety seriously, but also helps you have a good time by pumping the jams + pointing out cool landmarks. I recommend doing this a night so you can wave to all the other party-goers. I honestly had more fun doing this than hitting up a bar on Broadway.
These are only five of the unique Nashville experiences you can enjoy. They are ones I can personally vouch for + hope you’ll enjoy. What do you like to do when visiting Music city? Let me know over on Instagram!
