Water is essential to life. In fact, it is one of our bodies basic needs. Depending on the environment, a person will perish after a week without water. I am the worst at drinking water. I would much rather grab a soda. For this reason, drinking water is one of my New Year’s Resolutions.
There are so many reasons I should drink more water- aside from countless friends + relatives pestering me about it. Other than it’s necessity, there are many health + cosmetic reasons to drink water.

- clear skin + prevents acne
- helps your kidneys detox your body
- balances your fluids
- boosts your immune system
- helps your hangover
- promotes clearer thinking
- improves your mood
- prevent headaches
There are a lot of ways to drink more water. Like other New Year’s resolutions, there are apps to help you drink more water. I found a cool one today called Waterlogged. Buzzfeed also has some great tips on how to make sure you drink more water. I will definitely be following some of their tips.
